Lucca is also known to be the city of birth of the well-known opera writer Giacomo Puccini, which is appreciated in the whole world! There are many cultural events (concerts, exhibitions), all year over, which are dedicated to the Maestro. Torre del Lago is only 25 km from the historical centre of Lucca – the composer lived there many years – an open-air theatre was built, which is the yearly host of the Puccini opera festival.

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Toto in Lucca. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. The air con was very welcome! And the staff at the agency were very efficient and explained everything. We will definitely return and have no hesitation in booking again.

Wir waren im Juni dort, es war sehr heiß und den kleinen schönen Balkon konnten wir nur am Abend nutzen. Es gibt auch eine Klimaanlage, so war das mit dem Schlafen ok. Man muss im Flur und in der Wohnung ein paar steile Treppen steigen, also nur für Leute ohne Einschränkungen. Die Lage ist perfekt, innerhalb der Stadtmauer, direkt an der Innengrenze der Mauer, sehr ruhig und nur wenige Gehminuten zum Zentrum. In der Nähe gibt es einen kleinen Lebensmittelladen und ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß einen Supermarkt. Wir haben öfter Lime Bikes genutzt, sehr praktisch auch zum einkaufen, es gibt einen Korb am Rad. Lucca ist die perfekte Basis um Tagesausflüge nach Pisa, Florenz oder ans Meer zu machen, die Stadt ist wunderschön und nicht überlaufen. Eine klare Empfehlung!
