Starting from Villa Gru, there are many full day and half-day trips that you can organise. You can certainly reach the city centre of Lucca on foot (400m away), which is surrounded by its beautiful walls and has a special charm which you will hardly find elsewhere.
Lucca is a beautiful art city, rich of beautiful churches, palazzi, squares and stunning sights. Piazza San Michele, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, San Martino Cathedral, Guinigi Tower and the shopping lane Via Fillungo are definitely worth a visit. You can also discover old workshops, trattorias and excellent restaurants in its picturesque alleys.
Many events take place in Lucca all year around and make it a perfect choice for your holidays: the Comics exhibition, the operas, classical concerts, the Summer Festival, the arts and craft market, the market of antiques which takes place every 3rd weekend of a month and much more.

From Lucca you can make one-day trips to the most important art cities of Tuscany such as Florence, Pisa and Siena, visit picturesque medieval towns nestled in the countryside like Montecarlo, go to the seaside in Versilia or to Livorno, Castiglioncello and le Cinque Terre or organize bike trips or treks, following the tour of the Ville Lucchesi, which are located about 6 km from the city.

Interior Description

The villa is located in a residential area only 400 m from the city walls of Lucca. Even if it is attached on one side to another house, it is completely independent with a fenced garden (with an approx. 2m high net and hedge) for guests’ exclusive use, equipped with gazebo, table, chairs, barbecue, sofa and garden armchairs.

The house consists of: spacious entrance, modern kitchen-dining room with induction cooktop, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, American coffee brewer, toaster, dining table, 1 utility bathroom with toilet and basin (1 room remains closed), exit to the rear of the garden where you can find a gazebo with table, chairs and barbecue, spacious living/dining room with corner sofa, armchairs, TV, wooden table and big glass doors, with access to the patio with wrought iron table and chairs and to the garden.

Stairs to the first floor: 1 double bedroom with 1 en-suite big bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet, basin and exit on one balcony, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bedroom with 1 double sofa bed, desk and exit to one closed balcony with washing machine, 1 bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and basin.
The villa has been furnished with great care in modern style, with prestigious furniture, which makes it a very cozy and unique accommodation. Each detail has been taken care of by the owners to make their guests’ stay a pleasant one. Air conditioning throughout the house.
